(More customer reviews)I unfortunately discovered a mouse problem while doing some repairs to a kitchen cabinet.So I went to the store to find some traps, I knew I wanted a T-Rex style trap like they use on Verminators and found quite a few different options.I went with this one because I knew the Ortho brand and had good luck with their products in the past.

The trap is designed pretty well for being plastic.Good sturdy build, it has 'teeth' on the top and bottom to clamp down and the spring is good and strong so it snaps with some force.The bait tray is fixed to the bottom of the trap, the trigger is a red plate that is raised up around the bait tray so the mouse has to step on it to get to the bait triggering the trap.For bait, i use some peanut butter.

Setting the traps are easy so I did that and set out four traps.Within two hours I had rid the house of two rodents.The trap does what it says, both instantly and i assume painlessly killed the mice.Much more humane than glue traps or poison traps.The down side to this trap is that you do see the mouse, you have to empty the trap which is just as easy as setting it but the dead mouse is there in full view.

The other thing I liked is the value of these traps.The disposable ones cost more than these and have to be replaced after each capture.These Ortho ones are cheaper and once you catch a mouse, you empty it and reset it.

If you're looking for a mouse trap, these work and are a great value.The only negative is that you have to empty it after a catch which may both some people.
