This mousetrap is designed for the rich and squeemish.It effectively kills and hides the trapped mouse for quick and easy disposal, but it is much more expensive than most mousetraps as it is a one-use trap.This is a major draw-back but if you REALLY dislike seeing the dead mouse and think the cost is worth it, the mousetrap does what it's supposed to do if you're trying to rid yourself of only a few mice.

For a major infestation, this is a very expensive trap which quickly loses its effectiveness.For whatever reason after a very few captures, mice begin ignoring the traps and whatever goodies you've put inside them them.

(More customer reviews)Despite what the package says, they are reusable.Bought the trap last night, set them both out.One sprung within 15-20 minutes...Instant kill, no movement.Put the dead mouse in a containment facility to ensure he was dead.re-set the trap and woke up the next morningand both traps were sprung...Yea, we got a mouse problem, and these things are highly effective.I used shredded cheese in the bait door, I could've used peanut butter but i figure it'd be too messy since I plan on reusing these.Just make sure the bait door is properly secured and there is no food particles on the outside because mice don't have very good eyesight and the go mainly on smell and sound.If you have food on the outside, they would rather chew through their obstacle than take the "easy" way around. Definitely worth the money already. This thing is designed in a way to snap their backs so if you are easily offended by this product, don't buy it..But this product works VERY well.

(More customer reviews)Just before Xmas I bought a dozen traps & put them wherever I'd seen any droppings. As suggested I put peanut butter inside the trap. and waited. NOTHING!But the droppings continued to appear, often right next to the baited trap... After 6 weeks of waiting not only was I disappointed, my home was becoming overrun. I was completely grossed out.
Once I was out all day with my dog. When I got home, I realized that I'd forgotten to put away her bowl of kibble before leaving. I was horrified to see it had been completely emptied out by mice. But that got me thinking. I went to each trap & removed the peanut butter (by then solid & came out very easily) and in its place I put one piece of kibble per trap. The very next morning I'd caught 6 mice!!
To make it easier to see that a mouse was inside the trap, I used a magic marker to circle the "SET" position and drew an arrow pointing to the red mark. I could then see-at-a-glance if the arrow had moved to the "caught" position.
Someone else commented they weren't sure there was a mouse inside - it will be slightly heavier. Another unexpected advantage of the kibble is it rattles when shaken. But if a mouse is caught, it's silent when shaken. If there is still doubt a mouse has been caught, I overlooked one trap for a day or two - it SERIOUSLY STANK. I would never reopen a trap - that would defeat the whole "No View" concept & probably make me sick to my stomach. I recommend using these, in conjunction with individual traps of poison (cakes not loose) by VICTOR's if you have a bad infestation. Be very careful to put the poison up high if you have pets or small children.

(More customer reviews)These traps are the best. I got all different types of traps all over but this is the only one that catches the critters. After using them for years, I found tricks to increase the chance of a catch. First, use them back to back facing different direction against a wall. Mice are near sighted so they run along walls to know where they are going. Second, put the traps where you see droppings. Mice is a creature of habit. They will return to the same routes all the time especially when they know there's food and where there's food, you will see their droppings. Third, make a thin trail of peanut butter leading to the feeding cup from the opening and add a small blob at the opening. Like an appetizer. The mouse will get a taste of the goods and will not be afraid to go into the trap for the feast. I know it sounds crazy but the traps I've laid out with the appetizer always get the mouse even with other traps side by side to it. Good luck.
