Unlike the reusable baitable traps you just put these down in their hidden run areas and let the catching begin. I have had to change traps now three times since they work so well. My record so far is six mice on one trap and none have gotten away. Once they are on the trap thier stuck till they die. Best trap I have ever used by far.

(More customer reviews)Eleven years in a bungalow 80-plus years old, and we've never had a pest problem, until my son developed the bad habit of letting the back door hang wide open.Hey, presto--next thing we knew, there was a mouse in the house.It took quite a while to get it with an old-school trap, but we finally did; little did we realize that, in the meantime, there had been pups.We didn't know how many, but could hear them rustling and gnawing in the dark every night.

Squeamish after the horrow of the first kill and the tiny corpse that was left behind--and knowing that the ones left behind were the offspring--I insisted upon no-kill traps.What a joke those turned out to be.If we walked with a heavy tread or closed a door firmly, the trap doors swung shut and were rendered useless.It was not a very merry Christmas or a happy new year, as we held our breath that no renegade rodent would zip through the dining room or living room in front of guests.

I found the Snap-E traps here on Amazon, and was mightily impressed that 18 people out of 18 raved about them.In my office, it's hard to get a simple-majority agreement out of 5 or 6 people; a unanimous benediction from 18 people seemed nothing short of miraculous.

I ordered two Snap-E traps and waited as patiently as possible for them to arrive over the long holiday weekend.

Boy, were they worth the wait!Let me reaffirm that I am NOT pleased to have little killing machines in my house; however, I did try the no-kill variety and was mightily disappointed.Within 24 hours of setting the Snap-E traps, two mice were dispatched.Fifteen hours later, we got a third.

There's at least one more running about, as the trap had been licked clean of peanut butter, despite the dead mouse under the bar (eeeeew!).

I have learned the hard way that these aren't cute little critters that are going to go away by themselves--they're nasty little vermin that are only going to leave the house when they're wrapped up in grocery bags and put in the trash.I am sad to admit that I'm going to have to work off the bad karma some other way, but so happy to be regaining my home, and so quickly, too!

And so, let me be the 19th person to sing the praises of the Snap-E traps.I hope we never need to use them again, but we're going to keep a couple around, just in case.And if a tiny visitor should ever happen to disrupt your household, don't mess around--just get these traps and take care of it.

(More customer reviews)I knew I had a mouse in the garage, that didn't bother me too much. When I saw one run across the kitchen floor and scurry into the living room I thought TROUBLE. No biggie, just go to local hardware superstore and pick up some of those old fashion snap traps, right? So returned from Menards with 4 packs of some generic (not Victor) brand that was like 79 cents a 2 pack. Baited with peanut butter and set 6 of them. The next morning the peanut butter was gone from 4 of them (2 were untouched, they were probably full from the first 4). What the h*#@, So I reset, and this time I insured the wire that holds the trigger was barely in there, basically making it as sensitive as possible. Also used less peanut butter after reading a couple of web sites for advice. Result, they licked it clean. All peanut butter gone, no mice. Tried 3 or 4 more times, (I am very bull-headed).

My wife calls parents who say they never (tons of mice in their house over the years) had any sucess with the snap traps. They used d-con.
The idea of a mouse dying somewhere hiding did not sit well with me, nor did giving up. So I tried the snaps again, this time with a slice of cheese, kind of poked the metal of the trigger through it thinking the mouse would pull it off causing it to snap. It didn't, tried a chunk of chedder which I poked through and insured it was on tightly. Another free meal. Now I get out the pliers and bend the metal trigger up, insert the cheese and squeeze it tight. Let me see it get this, ha! Well it did, still no mouse. Now I am picturing this mouse smoking after he has had his way with me.

So I am giving up on these snaps and I go buy some of those stickly traps. Friend of my wife said they are very effective. Yes, as dance floors for the mice as evidenced by the footprints left on them, sans mouse.

Back to hardware store for a flame thrower as I am convinced this will be the only way to rid home of mice. But first I look to see what else they have. End up buying a bunch of different traps, live catch, new fangled snaps that close the mouse up, mouse hotels, etc. different brands too.

But amoung the purchases are the Victor easy set snap traps. Like the old fashioned no name ones but they were 19 cents a pair more at Lowe's. And they have this plasic fake cheese trigger instead of the metal. I smear a little peanut butter and put out what I am sure will be something like the 10th meal I have provided in a couple of days.

Results? 4 mice in less than 3 hours!! I win!! The mouse (mice) loses!!
I am the VICTOR!! with VICTOR!!

Tomorrow I am returning all these others and buying a bunch more of these simple cheap easy to use 2 packs.
